Small businesses are the backbone of our community. A thriving small business scene is a leading indicator of a thriving local economy.

Yet, as important as small businesses are to the economy, 43% of small businesses report that they’re just 3-6 months away from having to go out of business. Profit margins are generally slim for small companies as they attempt to compete with online retailers and big box stores. Thanks largely to inflation, prices are rising for everything, but many small businesses are eating those higher prices instead of passing them on to customers.

All small business owners have wish lists of things they would purchase to help improve their business in some way… if only they had an infusion of cash that wasn’t earmarked for other things like… paying the bills. Or themselves.

Enter the SMALL BIZ CASH BLITZ.

Join us Monday, March 11 at 6:30 p.m. at Sturdy Shelter Brewing in Batavia as we blitz two small business owners with some extra cash!

Cost: $20 public // $25 small business owner (only 10 available)

How it Works: 10 small businesses will register for the opportunity to be “blitz’d.” During the event, 2 of them will be randomly selected to talk a little bit about their business and then the blitz’ing will begin. For two minutes, we’re going to support their business by Venmo’ing them donations!

Commitment: If you register to attend, we’re asking that, on the night of the event, you agree to donate (either via Venmo or cash) at least $5 to each of the two businesses chosen. You can, of course, donate more and we encourage you to do so!

What’s in it for you: This will be a fun way to interact with local small businesses and support them financially.

You’ll also receive:

1. One drink ticket (good for beer, wine, or soft drink)

2. A raffle ticket for the opportunity to win a prize basket filled with goodies from local businesses.
